The true screen saver
Download this 3D screen saver, have fun and protect your computer.
How it protects your computer?
Most screensavers today lost their purpose. A screensaver's purpose is to save your screen: if you leave your monitor turned on for a long time, and it displays a bright image (for example, you left
a Microsoft Word document open) it will start to degrade in time and to loose its brightness. This process is permanent and non-reversible. In addition, a screen will produce much more heat if it displays a bright image because it requires more power to display that image. Because of this, in the
summer, it will start to overheat and soon the electronic components will start also to degrade.
So, the initial idea for a screensaver program was to display a black image when you don't use the computer in order to protect your screen’s active layer, electronic components, to cool it down
and to save some electrical power (between 10 and 50W depending on the monitor size and technology/type). Later the screensaver programs started to display small images or animations over that black image in order to make it more attractive. Finally, they completely eliminated the useful back image
and replaced with very good looking but useless 3D animations.
Our screensaver it is a TRUE SCREENSAVER while still being fun. It was specially designed to display something cool but without interfering with its main purpose.

Note: this screen saver was designed as a gift for DNA Baser's users.
